Ernie Knesel is one of the founding members of what is now LabCorp where he served as the senior vice president and chief science officer. During his tenure there, he developed several state-of-the-art laboratory tests and was responsible for seeing them through FDA approval. He is known as a pioneer in the laboratory industry and an expert in diagnostic testing.
As CEO and Founder, Ernie has led the development and launch of SelectWell®, a transformative chronic disease program based on cutting edge predictive health diagnostics.

Dr. Kievan Ettefagh serves as the Vice President of Technical Support for SelectWell®. With his expertise as a Ph.D. in biochemistry, he is consistently developing new laboratory tests to better assess an individual’s health. His education includes a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel hill and a doctorate in medicinal biochemistry from the University of North Carolina Greensboro. He is also board certified to serve as a laboratory director for a highly complex laboratory, which allows SelectWell® to utilize cutting edge diagnostic tests.
Dr. Keivan Ettefagh, PhD VP Technical Support – Innovation
Philip Gialenios brings over 30 years of diagnostic, healthcare, biotech, and pharmaceutical experience to SelectWell® holding numerous R&D, commercial, and consulting roles over his career. Prior to joining SelectWell®, Philip worked as a consultant working on Commercial Strategies, Go-To-Market Plans, Operational Optimization, and Sales and Marketing Execution for numerous healthcare companies.
His healthcare career includes 27 years across Executive Commercial, Sales and Marketing Leadership, and Scientific roles at Novo Nordisk Pharmaceuticals, Sigma-Aldrich Corp, Charles Rivers Labs, and the United States EPA. Philip earned his BS degree in Medical Sciences from North Carolina State University.
Philip Gialenios, Senior Director of Commercial Development
Dr. Patrick Rainey serves as the President and Chief Operating Officer for SelectWell®. With over 20 years of experience in the health industry, he directs the SelectWell® research and development effort. He also leads the compliance team to make sure all of the SelectWell® offerings exceed regulation standards.
Dr. Rainey’s extensive education background includes a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a minor in Mathematics from the University of Central Arkansas and a Doctorate in Chemistry from Texas A&M. Dr. Rainey was also awarded the National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship at the National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) in the Materials Science and Engineering Department and obtained is Diplomate status with the American Board of Toxicology.

Scott Varnum has over 30 years of leadership experience in the medical device and healthcare system industries. He has served as sales and operations executives for General Electric Healthcare, Siemens Healthineers, and Agility Health. Scott has been responsible for developing product pricing and solutions for medical device manufacturers and hospital customers both in the public and government markets here in the USA and globally.

Jasmin Orlando comes to SelectWell® with over 25 years of experience in the design industry. Her expertise includes collaboration with sales teams establishing the creative process, development, structure, and workflows for in-house branding of numerous markets and associated product lines. Jasmin leads the in-house agency team responsible for the creative content output associated with all SelectWell® market entries and product launches.
She brings both B2B and B2C marketing experience, delivering profitable solutions that drive sales, attract and maintain customers, and build a solid corporate brand.

Dr. Zhiyi Qiang holds a PhD in Toxicology from Iowa State University and a Masters in Pharmacology and Toxicology, His PhD research was awarded the Iowa State University Research Excellence Award.
Dr. Qiang came to SelectWell® focusing on lab setup, method validation, and daily operations of laboratories. He also developed the testing of advanced clinical biomarkers in proteomics and metabolomics using LC-MS/MS technology. He has over 15 years of experience with state-of-the-art analytical instruments. In 2017, Dr. Qiang was promoted and currently serves as the Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer.

Dr. Amy Campbell has always had a strong personal interest in health and wellness and a desire to utilize lifestyle medicine for disease management. She has practiced as an outpatient pharmacist for the last 25 years with specific interests in managing hypertension, obesity, and diabetes.
At SelectWell®, she incorporates Integrative Health Coaching into the corporate model for disease prevention. She recognizes the value of coaching as an effective means to produce actual results in terms of employee well-being and employer cost savings.
